Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Lidkea

LIDKEA-Mary Elizabeth (nee Tee), following a 22 year fearless battle with cancer, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 12, 2023 .

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 43 years: Mark; daughter: Alexis (James Dougherty); grandchildren: Holliday, Troy, Mikey and Hailey; Mother: Lucianne Tee; Sisters: Nancy Tee and Margaret (late Thomas) Scherrer; Brother: David Tee; Mother-in-law: Pearl Lidkea; Sister-in-law: Sheri Saieva (Angelo). Mary is predeceased by her father Julius Tee.

Mary will be greatly missed by her many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A graduate of Eisenhower College, Mary served as a dedicated federal employee for 32 years at the United States Marshals Service in Buffalo, NY.

Mary put in a tireless effort conquering Osteogenic and Leiomyosarcoma. She fought with immense strength and courage. Motivated to connect and build memories with her grandkids, she surpassed this final prognosis of one year, surviving until year four.

Mary attributed much of her success to her fight with the many years of professional advisement and medical care given to her at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. She was especially fond of and thankful for her devoted patient care given by Dr. Anne Grand’Maison. Her extra efforts and professionalism allowed Mary to trust the medical process and succeed in her fight.

Additional thanks to Dr. Jerome Yates and Dr. Brian McGrath for their years of dedicated care.

Many have prayed for and helped Mary throughout the years with her multiple diagnoses. Mark, Alexis and family would like to express their immense gratitude for the endless concern and support.

Many thanks to the attentive, patient and empathetic care given to her by Dr. Scher. Through out the most difficult days, you still managed to make Mary laugh and smile.

Mark and Alexis would also like to express special thanks to nurses Barbara, Jackie and Melissa, whose efforts provided Mary comfort and friendship in her final days.

Special acknowledgement and thanks to Gerard Longval for years of pharmaceutical advisement and support.

Friends and family are invited to a Funeral Mass being celebrated at Saint George’s Catholic Church, Crystal Beach, ON, on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Cremation to follow and private interment will be held at Ridgeway Memorial Cemetery, at a later date.
