My condolences to the family of “Mr Upfold”. Dale was my teacher in grade 5 at Garrison Road School. We all loved him as a teacher. He was firm and challenged us, but he had a remarkable skill of treating us young kids almost as equals or friends. He was my teacher in approximately 1979. He wrote something in my final report card on how he felt about me and my potential that had a major positive effect on me and at 54 yrs old I still have it in my bedside drawer to this day. It is the only report card I have ever kept. Rest well and thank you .

I’m so sorry to hear about Dale. I believe I was in his first class, in grade 5, and later he was my son’s teacher at General Vanier. I remember him fondly. I remember his wife, and how she told be about interior decorating. I remember him not being very pleased when I told him he looked like Sony Bono. God Speed Mr Upfold.
