Obituary of Tim (Edward) Magee
Magee, Tim (Edward) Burgess, 87 of Ridgeway, Ontario died April 5 soon after the onset of respiratory complications in Welland County Hosp. A graduate of Ridley College School, St. Catharines and Cornell University in Civil Engineering, Tim began his career as Partner, ultimately becoming Owner and President of The Port Colborne Iron Works until retirement and closing the business in 2000.
Tim, married Karen Siegfried, of Buffalo, NY in 1957 and settled in Fonthill ON, building a summer home in 1965 at the end of Abino Hills Road, in Fort Erie.
An avid sailor from childhood, Tim sailed and raced on Abino Bay as a lifelong member of the Buffalo Canoe Club.
Skiing was also a lifelong passion for Tim, Karen and family. Winter treks to the Buffalo Ski Club in the 60's and HoliMont in Ellicotville NY through the 90's were the regular winter ski destinations.
Tim was a founding member of the Fonthill Platform Tennis Club and also enjoyed Tennis at the Buffalo Canoe Club and Abino Hills and golf at The Cherry Hill Club.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Karen Magee; sons Jeffrey, Tad (Marlin) and Joe Magee, with daughter Ellen Ann Hurley deceased in 2013 and grandchildren Egan B. Magee, Nate (Nathan) M. Hurley, T. Shane Hurley and Lindsay K. Hurley.
Guests are welcome to greet the family at Williams Funeral Home in Ridgeway Ontario April 13 at 2-4 pm and 630-830 pm. A memorial service will be held at Forest Lawn Chapel in Buffalo on April 14 at 2pm.
